Precision casting, investment casting,lost wax casting

Precision casting is a generic term of precision casting process. It is made by sophisticated modelling method, concluding investment casting, ceramic mold casting, metal casting, pressure casting, lost foam casting. Investment casting is commonly used, you should choose suitable materials to make investment casting. And then repeat on the lost wax stick coating and sanding process, hardened shell and dry. Precision casting is also called lost wax casting, its products is sophisticated, complex, and close to the final shape of the part. It can be directly used without being processed or by rarely processed. So the investment casting is an advanced net-shape forming technology. Casting has been developing at a faster rate for half century since casting was used in industrial production in the 1940s. Especially in the European and American countries, it has developed rapidly. With the development of casting technology, investment casting can not only produce small-sized castings, but also can produce large castings. The maximum outline dimensions of castings nearly 2m, but the minimum wall thickness is less than 2mm. Meanwhile castings has become more sophisticated, in addition to linear tolerances, the parts can achieve high geometric tolerances. The angle value of castings surface is also getting smaller and smaller, can achieve Ra0.4μm.
