Reasonably use diamond drill bit
Drill that is used for cutting edge is called diamond drill. It is one of the three new drilling technologies in the world in the 1980s. Its entire drill has no active components, the structure is simple, with high strength, high wear resistance and impact resistance ability. Diamond bit has fast speed, more footage, long service life, steady work, less downhole accident and good quality well bore. Diamond bit can not only be used for a long time, but also can be repeated use. Diamond drills returned to factory for repairing have similar effects in use with the ones made in factory. In such a circumstance, it will save a lot cost in drilling.
How to identify the quality of diamond drill?
The the quality of diamond drill bit and whether bit type adapts to stratigraphic lithology play an important role to speed up the drilling speed and improve the single bit footage. Generally speaking, the smaller the size of drill bit and harder formation, the less penetration; the greater drill bit size and softer formation, the more drilling footage.
How to reasonably use diamond drill bit?
1. The diameter of diamond drill bit must be reasonably suitable for free inner diameter of the retainer. If the retainer free diameter is too large, it will not take on the card or not strong fasten the core, which will result in the middle of loss or excessive residual core. The retainer free diameter is too small, it would easily lead to core plug. Therefore, must pay attention to test with the size of the drill bit and the size of retainer before each drill down.
2. The inappropriate choice of drilling parameters, serious hole deviation, the unreasonable drill grade and oversized drilling factors will produce different levels of vibration. So we should take measures to improve hole stability in the process of drilling.
