iron casting technology to manufacture. Steel casting is a branch of alloy steel castings.Steel casting can be divided into 3 kinds:
carbon steel casting, low alloy steel casting and special steel casting.
Carbon steel casting. Carbon steel casting is a kind of iron casting tha
t is with carbon as the main elements and contains a few other elements. Carbon percentage with less than 0.2% is low-carbon steel casting, carbon percentage with 0.2% ~ 0.5% is medium-carbon steel casting, carbon percentage with more than 0.5% is high-carbon steel casting. Along with the increase of carbon contents,the strength of carbon steel casting increases, and the hardness is improved.With the advantage of high strength,high ductility, high toughness and low cost,carbon steel castings are widely used in heavy machinery industries to act as parts that bear large loads, such as rolling machine frames,hydraulic press bases;In railway vehicle,carbon steel castings are used as components like bolsters, side frames, wheels and hooks.
Low alloy steel casting. Low alloy steel casting is a kind of steel casting that contains alloy elements like manganese,chromium, copper and so on. The content of alloy elements is usually less than 5% and it has bigger impact toughness and can obtain better mechanical properties by heat treatment.Low alloy steel casting is superior than carbon steel casting both in performance and service life,what is more,carbon steel casting can reduce the weight of the parts.
Special steel casting. In order to adapt to the special needs ,casted steel castings always varies widely and usually contains one or more alloy elements with high quantity to get some special performance. For example,high manganese steel castings containing manganese 11% ~ 14% can bear impact and abrasion, they are often used as mining machinery spare parts and construction machinery wear-resisting parts;Stainless steel castings that take chromium or cr-ni as the main elements are often used for components that work under the conditions of more than 650 ℃ temperature or corrosion,such as chemical valve body, pump, container or turbine shell in high-capacity power station and so on.
