Carbon content of less than 0.2 % for casting low carbon steel, carbon 0.2 % to 0.5% for the casting of carbon steel, carbon greater than 0.5 % for casting high-carbon steel . As the carbon content increases, the strength of cast steel , the hardness increased . Cast carbon steel with high strength , ductility and toughness , low cost, in the heavy machinery used in the manufacture of parts to withstand large loads , such as rolling mill frame, hydraulic base, etc. ; in railway vehicles for the manufacture of large force and parts to withstand shocks such as bolsters , side frames , wheels and couplers, etc.
3.Contains manganese , chromium, copper and other alloying elements of steel is low alloy steel casting . Alloying elements are generally less than 5% , with a larger impact toughness , and heat treatment to obtain better mechanical properties. Casting low alloy steel with optimum use of performance, can reduce part quality , improve service life.
