    In order to make the casting with desired mechanical properties, physical properties and chemical properties,heat treatment is often necessary except the reasonable choice material and various forming process.Steel is the most widely used material in mechanical industry. Microstructure of iron and steel is complex and can be controlled by technology of heat process, so heat treatment of steel is the main content of the metal heat treatment. In addition,aluminum, copper, magnesium, titanium and its alloys also can change its mechanical, physical and chemical properties through the heat treatment and get the different use performance.
    Lathe bed casting products can improve it’s usability and the inner quality of cast iron castings by heat treatment as a kind of large castings. Metal heat treatment is one of the important technology in mechanical manufacturing. Heat treatment generally does not change the shape of the workpiece and the overall chemical composition, but by changing the workpiece internal microstructure, or the surface chemical composition, to give or improve workpiece using performance compared with other processing technology. Its characteristic is to improve the immanent quality of workpiece.
